At 4 layers in a mount otherwise mount would bulge and may get stuck in

                        Projector gate.

Groznies – bits of crap lodged inbetween layers of a slide needing cleaning.

Newtons rings – diffraction distortion when the negative bubbles or pops when heated by                           the lamp. Some Glass mounts are coated to prevent this are called “anti newton”

About Kodalith:

Kodalith film was made by Kodak and was primarily designed for making line and halftone negatives for photomechanical reproduction. The Kodalith film and process produced super high contrast black & “white” results that had no gray tones, it was either black or transparent/white. This created an opportunity for artists to include an unlimited range of abstract effects in their designs.

HISTORY NOTES

- The first carousel slide projector, launched by Eastman Kodak in 1962, was invented by Louis Misuraca, who emigrated to the US from Naples. Instead of royalties, he took a one-off payment from Kodak and used the money to take his family on a trip to Italy.

-The media cube from associated images of Minneapolis was very similar to the Motiva Box from pan image.
