ABOUT
My name is Richard Allison. I was an entertainment lighting technician for 30 years. These days I have a handyman and remodeling service. You can find more at my website at www.rahandyman.com. Early in my career I was fascinated by Multi-Image slideshows and wanted to work in this industry only to discover I was too late. By 1991 video and computers was quickly replacing slide projector technology and I had no interest. Fast forward 30 years when I got curious on how some of the techniques of slideshows were accomplished. Upon searching the internet I found nothing to very little. No books, no blogs, no films, no websites other than a page on Wikipedia. I decided to endeavor to write a book and/or produce a documentary to tell the stories of the technology and the people of the multi-image industry from 1964-1999. Considering the fact that I am not an experienced writer or documentarian, this should take some time, but someone should do it.

THE BOOK
So far the end result of this project is to be a book and / or a documentary. The book will read more like a story rather than a history text or instruction manual. The book will cover as much as can find out about the equipment of the industry starting in 1964 when Kodak provided the terminals for multi image control to be invented all the way to the end of the industry as it was known. The book will also cover the origins and evolution of many creative people over several artistic disciplines that became what multi image was to become. The book will also discuss many techniques of slide making, programming and professional associations. Finally the book will cover many people who were largely involved in the industry and contributed to its growth and their stories.
